Research
Like many rare cancers, research on Clear Cell Sarcoma has been limited but we're determined to change that. Through studies, publications, and clinical trials, we are dedicated to raising awareness and advancing knowledge about this ultra-rare cancer. Our mission is to educate and engage scientists, researchers, and medical professionals to accelerate progress in the fight against Clear Cell Sarcoma.

Clear Cell Sarcoma has been selected as one of just two ultra-rare cancers for therapeutic development through the ULTRA Program, a new public-private partnership currently in design by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) in conjunction with NCI, NCATS, and FDA. This milestone means that CCS is now on a national roadmap where the goal is not only to raise awareness, but to design and advance a new treatment.

Building on promising lab research, our devimistat + hydroxychloroquine CCS trial
(NCT04593758) finished Phase 1 with a safe/tolerable dose. We are now preparing
to launch Phase 2, with enrollment open from age 12+, making this trial accessible to
adolescents as well as adults.

Sponsored by SARC, the Phase II Trial of Tebentafusp is a multi-center, open label study in patients with unresectable or metastatic CCS. Patients who screen positive for HLA-A*02:01 and meet the eligibility requirements will be treated with weekly tebentafusp. This clinical trial began recruiting in November 2025. CCS patients should check eligibility and contact their oncologist for more information.
CCSF Team Showcases Groundbreaking Research at CTOS 2023, 2024 & 2025
The CCSF research team made significant contributions to the Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS) annual meetings, presenting three innovative poster presentations in 2023, 2024 and 2025. These presentations highlighted our ongoing commitment to advancing Clear Cell Sarcoma research and improving patient outcomes through scientific discovery.

Our work at these prestigious oncology conferences demonstrates CCSF's leadership in rare cancer research and our dedication to sharing critical findings with the global oncology community.
